Bastien was my neighbor for a while in Huntington Beach. I think he was just crashing at the Flip filmer's pad for a while. I use to see him skating outside my apartment all the time. Back then it was crazy because he just had this insane part in Flip Sorry and I couldn't believe he was living next store. Then one day he completely disappeared.

I was completely shocked. I thought to myself Bastien might be on the best skaters of all time and he kind of fell off the face of the earth. Luckily I found some videos that explain what happened (check out the interview 09 video in this playlist).

There is some newer footage of Bastien skating contests. He still kills it. And even does it barefoot!
