William "Billy" Ray Cyrus is
an American country music
singer, songwriter and actor.
He was born August 25, 1961 in
Flatwoods, Kentucky. He helped
make country music became
popular worldwide. Since 1992,
he has released eleven studio
albums, released 38 singles,
popular song of his Number One
single "Achy Breaky Heart",
which become the first single
ever to attain triple Platinum
status in Australia and the
best selling single in the
Australia in 1992. Billy Ray
Cyrus, a multi-platinum
selling recording artist, have
a total score of eight top-ten
singles on the Billboard
Country Songs chart. His
successful album up to this
date is the debut of "Some
Gave All", that has been
approve to be 9×
Multi-Platinum in the United
States and is the longest time
stayed by a debut artist at
Number One on the Billboard
200 that last up to 17
continous weeks and most
consecutive chart-topping
weeks in the SoundScan era.
It's the only album (from
different music style) in the
SoundScan era to stay 17
continous weeks at Number One
and is also the high ranking
debut album by a male
recording artist. It is ranked
in 43 weeks in the top 10,
which topped by only one
country album in history,
"Ropin' The Wind" by Garth
Brooks. the first debut album
to reach at the number 1 in
the Billboard Country Albums
was "Some Gave All" . This
album has sold more than 20
million copies globally and it
is the Best selling debut
album of all time for a solo
male artist. In 1992, "Some
Gave All" was the best selling
album in the US with 4,832,000
copies. In the entire career
of his, he has released 29 top
rated singles, of that, 15
reached in the Top 40.

From 2001 to 2004, Cyrus
starred in the television show
Doc. The show was about a
country doctor who moved from
Montana to New York City. In
late 2005, he also began to
co-star in the Disney Channel
series Hannah Montana with his
daughter Miley Cyrus. The show
is currently in its fourth
season.

In 2010, it was announced that
he and his son Trace Cyrus
would take part in a new Syfy
reality series called UFO:
Unbelievably Freakin' Obvious.
