The Circle Jerks is an
American punk band. It was
formed in 1979 on Hermosa
Beach, California by Black
Flag's original singer, Keith
Morris, and future Bad
Religion guitarist Greg
Hetson. The band consist of
Keith Morris, Greg Hetson,
Zander Schloss, Kevin
Fitzgerald. They were among
the punk bands of the L.A. in
the early 1980s.
The band split up and regroup
twice, sometimes with
different bass players and/or
drummers. They disbanded for
the first time after the
release of their fifth album,
1987's VI, it is because
Hetson decided to continue
touring and releasing a number
of albums with Bad Religion.
However, they reunited in 1994
and recorded a reunion album,
Oddities, Abnormalities and
Curiosities, in the following
year, then a tour followed.
After that, the band once
again parted ways as Hetson
was still involved in Bad
Religion, but reunited again
around 2001. The band has
continued touring ever since.
The Circle Jerks have released
six full-length studio albums,
one compilation, live album
and live DVD up to this date.
In 1995, came out their last
studio release, Oddities,
Abnormalities and Curiosities
and is the only reunion album
the band has released to date.
In 1980, their debut album;
Group Sex was released on the
Frontier Records label; its 14
songs totaled out at 15
minutes. It featured some
songs that Morris had written
while in Black Flag (Black
Flag claiming the songs that
it is "theirs")
