Foo Fighters, formed by former
Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, is
an American rock band from
Washington.
In 1995, Foo Fighters released
its self-titled debut album
with only Dave Grohl as the
official member. Original
members then were: Nate Mendel
(bassist), William Goldsmith
(drummer), and Pat Smear
(guitarist). When Goldsmith
and Smear left the band, they
were replaced by Taylor
Hawkins and Franz Stahl.
However, before the recording
of the band's third album
Franz Stahl left and was then
replaced by Chris Shiflett.
