John Lee Hooker - A legend
from last Century!
John Lee Hooker, a master of
the blues and creator of the
boogie. He started his career
in 1948. He introduced himself
to the world of music with his
first single “boogie
chillen”. Over a period of
time his boogie style was
adopted and augmented by
several other great musicians
including the rolling stones.
He has won several awards from
highly recognized
organizations. He is a three
time Grammy winner and was
awarded lifetime achievement
award at the 2000 Grammy for
his great contribution in the
field of music. He is also one
of the few deserving people
who were inducted into the
rock and roll hall of fame.
He was a multitalented
musician. Whether it was
singing, songwriting or
playing guitar, he was among
the best. He became famous
for his intense guitar playing
and his snippy voice. He had a
successful career and recorded
for numerous labels during his
lifetime. He can undoubtedly
be called the specialist of
the delta blues. Some of his
most famous songs include
“Boom Boom” (1962) and
“Boogie Chillen’ (1948).
He is a great inspiration and
his boogie-woogie style is
what will remain with us for
decades to come.
