Kevin Moore (born October 3rd,
1951), also known by his stage
name Keb’ Mo’ is a blues
singer, songwriter and
guitarist. He is from Los
Angeles, California. He got
interested in blues music
early in life. He had a
passion for guitar and learned
it very well in his teenage.
He started his music career by
performing in a calypso band.
He used to play steel drums
and upright bass in the
beginning. During the 70s he
played with several bands of
the blues genre. He also
recorded a few songs during
the 70s. But his debut album
“Rainmaker” came in 1980
under the label of chocolate
city records. His second album
(first as Keb’ Mo’) was
out in 1994. But the success
was yet to come. His third
album titled “Just like
You” (1997) was a big hit
and earned him a Grammy Award
for the best contemporary
blues album in 1997.
He further went on to win
another two Grammy Awards for
the same category in the years
1999 and 2005 for the albums
“Slow down” and “Keep it
Simple” respectively. He is
a musician with great
potential to become one of the
finest blues musicians of the
21st century.
