Random Trivia: There was a
skateboard company called
Bootleg that just went out of
business a few years ago. The
team apparently use to hang
out with Kool Keith. Their
last video was called "Bootleg
3000" named after the first
song of the Dr. Octagon album.
Bootleg 3000 starred "Skate
Johnson" who was played by
Kool Keith. In the bonus
footage they have a really
long interview with Keith. He
has this hilarious discussion
about his jean jacket. His
jacket has sequins that spell
“Rock Gets Ass”. He goes
into this long speech about
how rock stars have this great
life, get all kinds of ass and
never worry about people
trying to kill them – in
comparison to rappers who rap
about fake lives, but end up
putting their lives in danger.
As a fake rapper who have to
live in your apartment 365
days a year and order Pink
Dot. You can never go outside
for fear of being killed. He
concludes his argument with
“why would you want to
create such a lifestyle for
yourself?”
Grandma’s Boy – The
“Half Baked” for the 2000s
has a Keith song in the
credits. To top it all off the
song specially made for the
movie. If you haven’t seen
this movie, it’s an instant
cult classic.
The fake Dr. Octagon album:
The fake one has the track
"aliens" in it. That song is
cute. But all that album is,
is some dude who ran off with
some Keith tracks and made a
fake album. A lot of the songs
just sample in his voice, but
the rest is DJ work.
