Applesauce. I never liked him
because he was too chill and
too good. I really needed to
get myself some haterade, cuz
I was always hatin on him. But
as I aged, I realized he is
probably a really good guy and
he deserves all his fame and
appreciation.
He is really lucky because his
pro career started out with
two video parts in the same
year. He got a section in the
Alien Workshop / Habitat video
Photosynthesis and he also got
a full part in Flip Sorry.
Sorry was the biggest video
that year so he got a huge
boost.
I noticed around 2003 there
was a movement to take
skateboarding away from it's
agro Bam/Zero psycho style (or
kill yourself skating
mentality) to a more mellow,
"let's not take skateboarding
too seriously" mantra. I think
Mark was a part of that
movement. I actually
appreciate that. I was tired
of our team members trying to
kill themselves on El Toro for
no good reason.
