Steven Patrick Morrissey
(initially known as Morrissey)
is an English
singer-songwriter. He was born
in May 22, 1959 at Park
Hospital in Davyhulme,
LancashireHe become famous as
the vocalist and songwriter
of the alternative rock band
"The Smiths" in the 1980s. The
group was very successful in
the United Kingdom but in
1987, the band split up then
Morrissey start a solo career.
His songs enter the top ten of
the UK Singles Chart in ten
occasions in the United
Kingdom. He is considered as a
great pioneer of indie music.
He has been has been
characterized by NME (the
music magazine )as "one of the
most influential artists
ever," and the UK newspaper
"The Independent" has declared
that "most pop stars have to
be dead before they reach the
iconic status that he has
reached in his lifetime."[3]
The Chicago based internet
daily publication "Pitchfork
Media" which committed in
music criticism has described
him as "one of the most
singular figures in Western
popular culture from the last
20 years."
In 1978, Morrissey become
frontman of the band" The
Nosebleeds". They performed
several concerts which include
the supporting of the band
"Magazine" that appear in a
NME review by Paul Morley.
