P Rod stands for Prodigy Rodriguez. I don't know where I heard this story so it may be completely untrue. I heard that Paul's dad asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and Paul said "I want to be a pro skater". So his dad found one of the best skaters at the time to be his trainer. That man was Kareem Campbell.

The story goes that Kareem groomed Paul to be this skateboarding robot who could execute tricks all day long. Kareem did put Paul on his City Stars skateboard company back in the early 2000s. That's a fact. But as skateboarding became big business Paul got snatched up by bigger brands like Nike and Girl Skateboards (then of course Plan B).
