Rudimentary Peni is a British
anarcho-punk/Deathrock band
that was formed in 1980. In
February 2003 issue of Maximum
RocknRoll (issue #237), Grant
Matthews explains how he get
the name of the band. He
explains: "When I was in high
school studying biology, we
were inform that in the stage
of fetus the clitoris is a
basically penis." The band
appear from the British
anarcho-punk wave in the early
1980s. Lead singer/guitarist
Nick Blinko is laeding for his
humorous ghostly lyrics and
dark pen-and-ink artwork,
apparently featured on all of
Rudimentary Peni's albums.
Nicko Blinko is also buzz that
he have written the band's
Pope Adrian 37th
Psychristiatric album while
residing in a psychiatric
hospital. The bassist Grant
Matthews also wrote a couple
of songs for the band,
although his lyrics basically
focus on sociopolitical
themes. Only few photos of the
band that exist as their
albums which feature Blinko's
drawings instead however,
Pushead published several in
the previous edition of his
magazine.
The Rudimentary Peni released
its first record, a 10 song EP
on their own label "Outer
Himalayan Records". They have
pursue to release by
themselves of their material,
with particular offer from
other record companies.The
band have contact with
associate anarcho-punkers
"Crass" and their second 7" EP
"Farce" was released by Crass
Records.
