Santana is a Band formed by
Carlos Augusto Alves Santana.
Carlos (DOB July 20, 1947) is
a Mexican American musician.
He is well known for his
guitar skills. Santana as a
band grew in popularity during
the 60’s and 70’s with
their innovations in salsa,
jazz and rock music. Carlos
Santana was placed at 15th
spot by rolling stones on the
100 greatest guitarists of all
time.

Carlos Santana has contributed
a lot to the world of music
and has been awarded 10 Grammy
awards for his contributions.
Although he earned great
reputation during the 70’s
but was struggling to perform
well during the 80’s and did
not achieve commercial
success. During the early
90’s he was struggling to
get contracts and no label was
willing to work with him. But
in 1999 he recorded an album
“supernatural” with mostly
young musicians. The album was
a commercial success, but the
success was mainly enjoyed by
the young lead singer. The
single “smooth” from that
album spent 12 weeks at number
one on the billboard hot 100.

Carlos Santana is no doubt one
of the most admired and
respected musician of the 20th
century. He has devoted his
life to music and has been
providing the world with great
rhythms for almost 5 decades.
