There was something about this
band...they were really
unique. They were either WAY
ahead of their time or really
the best culmination of what
the 80s were about.
Another way to describe Taking
Heads is that they were an
Avante Garde, New York City
band. They were known for
playing at CBGB with the
Ramones a lot. CBGB was kinda
of like a cultural punk rock
mecca at the time.
This first song, Naive Melody
was used at the end of the
move Wall Street in the
credits section.
This band reminds me of Joy
Division mixed with the
Pixies. I think it's the lead
singer that has Ian Curtis
similarities. And it's the
lyrics that kinda remind me of
the Pixies. Obviously
musically they are nowhere
near being similar in style.
When life gets a little crazy
it seems like Talking Heads
always does the trick. It
tends to put things in
perspective. Try it out one
day for some medicinal
purposes.
