If you are 21 years old, and
as of the year 2010, have sold
about 16 million records
worldwide, then the only
person who could possibly fit
this description is Taylor
Swift, who is one of the
youngest and in recent years,
one of the most successful
artists in the world of
country music today.
Her self-titled album that was
released in 2006 was almost
immediately certified
multi-platinum and a
nomination as Best New Female
Artist while her following
albums ‘Fearless’ earned
her four Grammy awards as well
as the Album of the Year.
Both her albums were right on
top by 2008, selling $ 2.1 and
$ 1.5 million records each,
and if that wasn’t enough,
her second album topped the
Billboard 200 for 11 weeks; a
feat that hasn’t been
achieved by any artist since
the year 2000.
And if her financials, which
stand at about $ 45 million in
earnings, doesn’t give one
the entire story, then the
distinction of becoming the
youngest artist to ever win
the Country Music Association
Award for Entertainer of the
year kind of sums up her
career in a nutshell, and
what’s more is only one of
six women to win the highest
honor that is offered by the
Country Music Association.
Apart from these honors, she
has also been featured on
several cover magazines as
well as initiatives in
philanthropy as well, in
particular to protect children
from sexual predators online.
All in all, Taylor Swift, as
young as she is, has already
done so much and one can only
expect her to climb even
higher in the years to come.
