The Adolescents is an American
punk band. It was formed by
Steve Soto in 1980 in
Fullerton, California. The
band is a punk supergroup,
consist of former members of
Agent Orange and Social
Distortion. Alongside with
Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad
Brains, and many others, they
are frequently given credit as
one of the leading bands of
the 1980s hardcore punk wave.
For 30 years after its
formation, the band have
undergo several changes in
member. The Adolescents split
up and reformed twice,
occasionally with different
guitarists, bass players
and/or drummers. In 1981,
their first broke up was after
the release of their
self-titled debut release,
which is frequently considered
as an influential punk rock
album, when several members of
the band were implicated in
their own projects, including
Agent Orange and D.I.. But in
1986, the Adolescents reunited
and released two more albums,
Brats in Battalions in 1987
and Balboa Fun*Zone in 1988;
before breaking up again in
1989. The Adolescents were
reunited again in 2001 for a
20th anniversary tour and have
sustained performing ever
since. The band released "OC
Confidential", their first
studio album in 17 years in
2005, following by 2011's
upcoming album "The Fastest
Kid Alive".
