The Casualties is an American
punk band. The band was formed
in 1990 in New York City, New
York. Their music style is
usually categorized as street
punk or hardcore punk. The
original member consisted of
Colin and Jorge on vocals,
Yureesh on drums, Hank on
guitar, and Mark on bass.
Colin left the band for
several months to finish his
studies.
Colin, Jorge, Yureesh, and
Mark put together a demo. Fred
substitute Hank, but then Fred
leave the band to go to
school, and Scott from C Squat
is replaced for the position.
Another guitarist, Steve, from
Distraught, also replaced
during this time. The EP "40
Oz. Casualty" was recorded. In
1992, the band was having a
tour and build up a fan base
in NYC. In 1993, bassist Mark
and guitarist Fred was filled
by Mike and Jake, accordingly
and Yureesh was filled by
Shawn on drums in 1994. In
1995, the band's second
release, the "A Fuckin Way Of
Life" E.P. was released on
Eyeball Records. In 1996,
Shawn leave the band, and
Meggers of the Rivits came to
fill in and become the regular
drummer. The group of Jorge,
Jake, Mike and Meggers
sustained until 1997. Johnny
(Of The Krays) served as
bassist until 1998 (it is
replaced permanently by Rick
later in that year).
